The Assassin's Blade

Next week, we will be starting The Assassin's Blade by Sarah J. Maas. Specifically, we will be discussing the first novella titled "The Assassin and the Pirate Lord".

People Who Love Us

I don't tolerate competition. After all, I always win.

So listening to Shay and Carissa spend hours analyzing- and admiring - other male main characters was... a mistake.

Their breakdown of Throne of Glass is strategic. Impressive, for two girls who would undeniably fall off the parapet before getting a squad assignment.

I'll be listening. Not because I want to, but because I need to know what happens next.

Or else.

Xaden Riorson

Wingleader
Okay, so I put this thing on thinking I'd listen for, like, five minutes in between saving the world and all that.

That did not happen.

Shay and Carissa are talking about books like their lives depend on it: yelling, spiraling, and getting personally offended by fictional choices. And they're really smart about it. They even catch stuff I've missed, which is impressive, because I've fought monsters. You'd think I'd be more observant.

Anyways, it's chaotic, funny, and weirdly addictive. Just don't blame me when you get emotionally attached to fictional people.

Percy Jackson

Son of Poseidon/Demigod
I wasn't intending to become invested in Podcast of Plots and Pages. It was merely meant to be a quick listen for research for my Muggle Studies O.W.L.

Shay and Carissa approach Throne of Glass with an impressive attention to detail. They pick up on nuances that many readers overlook, which, as a meticulous scholar myself, I can certainly appreciate.

This podcast is equal parts insightful and entertaining. I'd recommend it to anyone interested in building a deeper understanding of millenial Muggle women and their reading habits.
